A Reader’s Review
“Simple to make! Plus it was a huge hit! Can’t ask for anything more than that!” -BonBon
Why This Million Dollar Dip Beats the Rest!
- Better Crunch: My Million Dollar Dip uses freshly shredded cheddar and slivered almonds for the perfect mix of creamy and crunchy.
- Flavor That Gets Better: This dip’s flavor gets better as it chills, so you can make it ahead and it’ll taste even better the next day!
- Simplicity Without Sacrifice: My Neiman Marcus Dip comes together in minutes and has the perfect balance of rich, salty, and savory flavors.
Million Dollar Dip Ingredients

- Almonds: Toast your almonds before for maximum nutty flavor.
- Cheese: Use freshly shredded cheddar for the best taste and texture. You can also use aged Gouda or Gruyere.
- Flavor Boosts: Add extra flavor with 1 Tablespoon ranch seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, or a few dashes of hot sauce!
- Mayonnaise: You can substitute mayo for sour cream, cream cheese, or Greek yogurt. I have found that mayonnaise works best.

Your video shows sliced almonds, not slivered. Which do you use?
I like to use slivered almonds. That is best for this recipe! Enjoy! XOXO
This dip is so yummy! I had the original recipe at a friend’s house. Today I made it myself but changed the almonds to water chestnuts sliced into sticks( my daughter has a nut allergy). The result was excellent! Still has a crunch from the water chestnuts. We all loved it and so easy to make.
Hi Ellen!
Thanks for the comments and feedback. I am so happy that you loved the dip. It is one of my favorites. I am glad that you were able to make a substitution that fits your daughters needs. Thanks for following along! xoxo
I made this today (Christmas Day) to take for dinner at my cousins house. I was looking for something quick and easy. The reviews said it was great but I was doubtful – it looked kind of odd but I had all the ingredients so I gave it a go. OMG – Everyone loved it! The 14 year old teenager ate almost the whole bole! She loved it and everyone else did. This is definitely a keeper. I only have one complaint – when I got home and went to check the recipe to put in my recipe file I couldn’t find it – I couldn’t find it under appetizers – or did I just miss it? Either way, it’s a 5 star keeper for me!
When you make this million dollar dip, do you use the green and white part of the onion?
Just the green part of the onion.
It would be helpful to include this information in the recipe instructions.
Exactly Miracle Whip is not mayonnaise, I cut the top of the green onion off, and about 1/4 inch off the green part
I have made this dip several times do not freeze it it has mayonnaise and don’t freeze it you will ruin it also when you use the green onions use the white part as well as the green part cut the top of the white part off and cut probably about an inch of the green part I dice mine up really fine so if you’re not using the white part you’re making a big mistake
I don’t have any almonds, so I thought about using pecans. What do you think? Also, would you toast them before putting them in to add too the crunch?
That sounds great! It will add a different texture and flavor but will taste great too. Let me know what you think! XOXO
Has anyone tried to make this without the scallions?
Your recipes are simple and easy to make and have a great taste.
Hello. My favorite mayo to use is Miracle Whip because of the sweet taste. What mayo did you use or heard of others using?
I love the taste of miracle whip but mayo is always a classic too. I like mayo a little better but it is more of a preference of taste. It does make a difference. Hope that helps! XOXO
In my opinion, Miracle Whip is not mayonnaise. I wouldn’t use anything but “real” mayo in this recipe. My favorite brands of it are Hellman’s and Duke’s. Just my two cents…
Good Morning;
I am a huge Miracle Whip user, it gives recipes a much better taste, I have made this several times with miracle whip,it is a big hit,I made it for a Halloween party this year ,I doubled the recipe, there was maybe a half cup left.
I just made this for “Dip Day” at work tomorrow, and after I tasted it I kept out a little to have for dinner with zucchini chips (plain dehydrated zucchini slices) and cherry tomatoes. I think it is pretty paleo/keto also, if I’m not mistaken.
Anyways, I love it! Thank you for sharing the recipe!
What is the total serving size on this? I am trying to calculate Net Carbs per serving. Thanks!
The serving size is 10-12 people. Hope that helps! XOXO
Looks really good
Delicious dip and easy to make. 1/2 cup of bacon bits equaled 1/2 pound of bacon. I used 1 Cup of Mayo (with olive oil) and 1/2 cup Greek Plain Non-fat yogurt. Brought it to a gathering hosted by a former caterer from Spain. She loved it and asked for the recipe. Thanks!
I made the dip this morning. I just tasted it and it is very salty. Is there anything I can add to take some of the salt out?
Low sodium bacon, can substitute 1/3 of the mayo for sour cream, it will give a lighter~brighter flavor and still get the mayo aspect.
When you say mayo, you mean like Hellman’s or Miracle whip
Hellman’s mayonnaise although miracle whip could work but it will give it a different flavoring.
Hi Alyssa. I can wait to make this dip!! Love Dips. One ?, can we freeze? Read all comments and the dip was always gone to fast. Thanx
I have not tried to freeze this dip but it should be okay if done properly. Thanks so much for following along with me! XOXO
Made the Million dollar dip. It was delicious.
Every time I make this I am asked for the recipe by multiple guests!! It is a sure winner. I do add some garlic powder and some hot sauce to spice it up again and serve with wheat thins! I have also substituted creamed cheese for the mayonnaise. Best Foods /Helms Mayonnaise works best!!
It is easy and expensive and always turns out perfectly.
