Ingredients Needed for Golden Milk Smoothie

Simple and fresh ingredients are what make this golden milk smoothie so creamy and delicious! See the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact measurements!

  • Milk: Any variety of milk will work!
  • Mango Chunks: Frozen mango chunks work best in this smoothie.
  • Greek Yogurt: Greek yogurt makes this smoothie recipe healthy because it adds protein to start your day. Plain or vanilla yogurt can also be used.
  • Banana: I always like using frozen bananas in smoothies, but fresh bananas also work! Use ripe bananas because they are the sweetest!
  • Ginger Paste: Ginger adds great flavor and nutrients.
  • Turmeric: The perfect spice to give this smoothie its vibrant orange color. I used ground turmeric in this recipe.
  • Cinnamon: Ground cinnamon is a great spice that complements all the flavors in this golden milk smoothie.
  • Black Pepper: Enhances the flavors and also adds a little kick to the smoothie.

Golden Milk Smoothie Variations

Take this smoothie to the next level but switch things up and make it your own! Here are a few variations for making this golden milk smoothie. You’re going to love these variations!

  • Fruit Substitutions: You can swap the mango out for pineapple or more banana if you prefer those fruits.
  • Make it Dairy-Free: For a dairy-free smoothie, use plant-based milk and substitute Greek yogurt for a dairy-free Greek yogurt. Try almond milk, cashew milk, or coconut milk for delicious options.
  • Creamier Smoothie: Freeze the banana before adding it to the smoothie because this is the trick to a creamy smoothie!
  • Add Protein Powder: Add a scoop or two of your favorite vanilla protein powder to get a little extra protein in for the day! It won’t change up the flavor or texture too much, but it will help fill you up for longer!
  • Make it Sweeter: Need it a little sweeter? Then drizzle in some honey or agave to add sweetness.

All of the cozy, delicious flavors of pumpkin pie in a creamy Pumpkin Smoothie! This smoothie recipe can be ready to enjoy in just 5 minutes! Simply blend pumpkin puree, frozen banana, milk, Greek yogurt, almond butter and warm spices for a healthy, satisfying fall breakfast or snack.

We love smoothies year-round! And this pumpkin spice flavored smoothie is sure to get you in the fall spirit. Be sure to try out some of our other pumpkin treats! Pumpkin Smoothie Recipe

This cold, creamy, incredibly flavorful pumpkin smoothie is an easy, tasty way to add nutrition into your diet. The pumpkin and banana are loaded with many different vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. In addition, the protein in the greek yogurt and almond butter will keep you fueled for hours.

You will love that this is a nutritious fall treat that tastes like dessert! In addition, it’s super quick and easy to whip up. Plus, it’s portable – take a few minutes to mix one up before heading out the door for the day. You’ll soon be craving these every morning!

Ingredients Needed

This pumpkin smoothie recipe is cold, creamy, and perfectly thick! If you keep canned pumpkin in your pantry, you may have everything to make one right now! Here’s everything you’ll need:

  • Pumpkin: Used canned pumpkin puree or try making homemade pumpkin puree. It’s way easier than you might think!
  • Bananas: We recommend sliced frozen ripe bananas to help sweeten the smoothie and create a creamy consistency.
  • Milk: While the recipe calls for pumpkin spice almond milk or plain almond milk, you can use whatever kind of milk you prefer. You can even add in a tablespoon of pumpkin spice creamer if you’d like, which will add some extra sweetness to the smoothie.
  • Greek Yogurt: I like vanilla greek yogurt in this because the vanilla flavor pairs nicely with the spices. Plain yogurt works great too!
  • Ice: Adding in about 1/2 cup of ice cubes will keep the smoothie cold and make it nice and thick.
  • Almond Butter: Optional, but I love the nuttiness that it adds. It also adds a bit of protein and healthy fats to make this smoothie filling. If you don’t have almond butter, try peanut butter.
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice: If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice on hand, make homemade pumpkin spice! Or you can use the following: 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon and a pinch each of nutmeg, ginger & allspice.

Add More Nutrients

This pumpkin pie smoothie is plenty healthy as-is, but you can also boost the nutrition by adding any of the following ingredients:

  • Ground Flaxseed: This will give your smoothie a boost of fiber, healthy fats and minerals. Add 1/2 to 1 tablespoon.
  • Chia SeedsSimilar to flaxseed, about 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of chia seeds blended into your smoothie will add healthy fats, fiber and antioxidants.
  • Protein Powder: As written, this pumpkin smoothie has 8 grams of protein. If you’d like to add more protein, consider adding a scoop of your favorite vanilla flavored protein powder.

How to Make This Pumpkin Smoothie

This pumpkin smoothie recipe could not be easier! You’ll love whipping one up and enjoying the tasty flavors of fall.

  • Blend: Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Served: Pour into two cups and enjoy immediately.

Tips and Variations

Smoothies are really simple to make but here are a few tips and variations that will help you make it just right!

  • For a Thicker Smoothie: To make your pumpkin smoothie plenty thick, make sure that you are adding in frozen fruit, in this case bananas. This helps it gain that thick texture!
  • Pumpkin Pie Filling: It’s important to use pure pumpkin puree and NOT pumpkin pie filling. The pumpkin pie filling contains sugar and spices.
  • Pumpkin Puree: Use homemade or canned. You can even use a heaping 1/2 cup of cubed, frozen pumpkin as long as it is already cooked.
  • Sweetener: This smoothie has some sweetness to it, but it’s not overly sweet. If you would like it to be sweeter, try adding 2 tablespoons of honey or pure maple syrup.

How Long Will My Pumpkin Smoothie Last?

As with all smoothies, this is best enjoyed as soon as it is made. It does not store well at all.

Strawberry Mango Smoothie Recipe

Smoothies are so delicious and versatile, and this strawberry mango smoothie is no exception. I especially love the addition of ice in this recipe because it gives the smoothie a refreshing texture. This strawberry mango smoothie is perfect for hot summer days or whenever you need a cool pick-me-up.

You can use frozen or fresh fruit when you make this smoothie, but using frozen fruit will help this be a little bit thicker. Not to mention that when you use frozen fruit, it’s a lot easier to make this recipe all year round! This smoothie not only has vitamin C, but because it uses Greek yogurt, it has additional fiber, potassium, and probiotics. This makes this recipe a healthy and delicious choice!

Strawberry Mango Smoothie Ingredients

You can use fresh strawberries and mangoes instead of frozen ones if they’re in season. And, if you want to easily change this up, try adding a squeeze of lime juice or a handful of spinach to make it even healthier! Check out the exact ingredient measurements on the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  • Ice: This adds a refreshing and icy-cold element to the smoothie.
  • Frozen Strawberries: Bursting with sweet and tangy flavors, they bring in a bright color and a dose of vitamin C.
  • Frozen Mangoes: These not only add flavor but they help make your smoothie nice and creamy.
  • Mango Juice: This complements all of the other ingredients in the smoothie.
  • Greek Yogurt: This adds a velvety and creamy texture to this strawberry mango smoothie.
  • Honey: The honey adds some natural sweetness

Steps to Make a Strawberry Mango Smoothie

All you have to do is gather your ingredients, toss them all into the blender, and let it work its magic. This recipe takes less than 5 minutes, and you’ll be sipping on this in no time. It’s perfect for summer!

  1. Blend: Place all the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth and serve immediately.

Variations and Substitutions

This strawberry mango smoothie is delicious as is, but if you want to, there are simple ways to change it up! Here are a few ideas that you can try:

  • Bananas: Add half of a banana to the mix to add some sweet flavor.
  • Spinach: I always love adding spinach to my smoothies. You can’t taste the greens, but it takes it one step further in making this smoothie extra healthy. Keep in mind that adding this to the smoothie will change the color.
  • Berries: I love adding raspberries to this smoothie! It complements the other flavors, and you can’t go wrong with adding additional berries.
  • Juice: If you don’t have mango juice, you can use orange juice, pineapple juice, or a combination of both to get that tropical flavor.
  • Sweetener: To make the smoothie vegan or reduce the sugar content, substitute honey with maple syrup, agave nectar, or a few drops of liquid stevia instead!

Storing Leftovers

If you anticipate not being able to finish the leftovers within a couple of days, you can freeze the strawberry mango smoothie.

In the Freezer: Pour any leftovers from your smoothie into an ice cube tray. Once frozen, transfer the cubes into an airtight container to prevent freezer burn. When you are ready to eat it again, throw the frozen smoothie cubes into your blender with a little bit of liquid. This will make it taste nice and fresh!

A protein smoothie is easy to digest and full of nutrients to keep your body happy until lunch. Not to mention it’s absolutely delicious! Try out this recipe and you’ll be hooked.

I love protein powder, I always have some somewhere in the house. It’s a great way to make sure that my family and I are getting the vitamins and nutrients we need. You can do more than just mix them with milk or water. I like making snacks to keep in the fridge or freezer that are really filling and tasty. Try out these quick and easy Protein Balls, these delicious Protein Pancakes, and these Protein Bars.

Protein Smoothies

We’ve all been burned out on breakfast repeats before. No one wants the same old thing for breakfast again and again! As much as I love overnight oats and homemade granola, if I eat them over and over again, my body starts to want something else. Enter protein smoothies! They are the perfect solution for a quick and easy breakfast that is full of nutrients and the taste never gets old.

After your body has been asleep for (hopefully) 8 hours, it wants to break it’s long fast in the best way possible. A smoothie is easy to digest, full of nutrients that the body needs to start the day, and also tasted delicious. If you are looking for a quick and flavorful breakfast than this protein smoothie is the way to go! It takes 10 minutes to whip up, and can be the perfect way to fill you up without dirtying a lot of dishes with other breakfast recipes.

Protein Smoothie Ingredients

A protein smoothie is a perfect breakfast or a filling snack. There is something so satisfying about a protein shake in the morning, and this smoothie takes a regular shake and upgrades it. It’s better for you, and it tastes better too. I like to use a whey protein powder, but if you have an allergy or aversion there are plenty of really great plant based protein powders to choose from. You can find the measurements below in the recipe card.

  • Almond Milk or Milk: Any milk will work for this smoothie. Sometimes I add coconut milk or cashew milk, all of them are delicious.
  • Protein Powder: Use your favorite brand! There are so many brands out there, I’m sure you’ll be able to find one that works for your family. I prefer to use chocolate flavor, but vanilla goes with everything.
  • Banana: Frozen bananas are really the key to a perfect smoothie! They blend up so smooth and make the perfect texture smoothie.
  • Blueberries: Buy a big bag of frozen blueberries to keep on hand for your next smoothie. They are full of vitamins and taste amazing.
  • Spinach: Spinach is a great source of Vitamin A, Vitamin K, and Iron. It also has a really mild flavor so you won’t even taste it, and you get all the benefits of eating spinach.
  • Almond or Peanut Butter: Nut butters are not only delicious, but they have lots of proteins and fats that will make this smoothie filling and tasty. Cashew butter is another great choice. If you don’t want to add a nut butter, greek yogurt is also another high protein choice.
  • Ice: I find that if I add frozen fruit, I don’t usually need ice.
Process photos showing all of the ingredients put into the blender.

Protein Smoothie Recipe

The only thing you need to know about mixing up this high protein smoothie is add the liquid first. Whether you choose non-dairy milk or to use a fruit juice like orange juice instead, add your liquid first. This will keep the protein powder from sticking to the side and clumping together. You can add granola on top to make it more like an acai bowl. It tastes absolutely amazing!

  1. Add Milk: Add the almond milk to a high-powered blender.
  2. Add Other Ingredients: Add the protein powder, banana, blueberries, spinach, and then almond butter.
  3. Blend: Blend on high until smooth and creamy. Add more almond milk if needed to help blend the ingredients. Add more almond milk and ice to reach desired consistency. I prefer my smoothie thicker so I add ice!

Tips for Making Protein Smoothies

Protein smoothies come in all flavors and varieties. You can literally make this smoothie however you want! Here are some of my favorite variations and ways to make this protein smoothie even better for you.

  • Frozen Fruit: Frozen Banana is a MUST! It creates the best creamy texture in smoothies. I freeze a bunch of overripe bananas in the freezer so they are ready to use.
  • Alternative Ingredients: Switch up the berries. Use strawberries, raspberries, mangoes, or mixed berries. You can add more protein by adding things like oats, flaxseeds, chia seeds, or hemp hearts.
  • Sweeteners: Make it sweeter by adding honey or agave if you prefer. Maple syrup is also a great choice and so delicious.
A close up on a blueberry protein smoothie with a metal straw.

Storing Leftovers

Everyone knows that a protein smoothie is best eaten fresh! Even after a few hours in the fridge, they start to separate and melt and never taste quite the same. This recipe makes enough for one serving, and I recommend eating it all right away.

This Mango Lassi is an Indian yogurt smoothie that is so creamy and full of flavor. It’s spiced with cardamom to give it a little kick, and it will have you coming back for seconds. It will be an instant hit every time you serve it!

I am in love with smoothies. I especially love to make them in the morning when my stomach isn’t ready for a hearty breakfast. They are full of nutrients and give me energy for my day. I absolutely love this Peach Smoothie, this green Detox Smoothie, and this yummy and unique Avocolada Smoothie.

A mango lassi in a glass cup with a metal straw.

Mango Lassi Recipe

A mango lassi is a yogurt-based drink similar to a smoothie. It is originally from India and you may have seen it on an Indian restaurant’s menu. If you have never tried one before, you are in for a treat! It’s similar to a mango smoothie, but you add yogurt and spices to it. It’s a rich and creamy drink that you will be absolutely hooked on!

The best thing about Indian food, in my opinion, is the spices! They absolutely make the most flavorful dishes with so many yummy and flavorful spices that I crave almost weekly. When we eat out, I always order chicken tikka masala, beef curry, or the butter chicken… or all of them! And I ALWAYS get a mango lassi to go with. They are the perfect complement to any Indian dish or any meal for that matter!

Ingredients

A mango lassi has just a few simple ingredients that are similar to a smoothie. You also have a lot of wiggle room to make this recipe exactly the way you want it. If you don’t have certain things on hand you can improvise! I have made a lot of different versions of a lassi with different ingredients and it’s always delicious. You can find the measurements below in the recipe card.

  • Plain Yogurt: Yogurt is part of what makes this a lassi. I used plain whole milk yogurt, but you can use almost any yogurt that you think would go great with mangos. You could also use a low-fat yogurt to cut down on calories.
  • Milk: I like to add milk because it really helps everything cream together. You could use milk alternatives if you are trying to avoid dairy
  • Frozen Mangos: You will use frozen mangoes, that way you don’t have to use any ice cubes and water it down! It makes a super flavorful and creamy texture. You could also use canned mango pulp instead, you should be able to find some in the freezer section.
  • Honey: I like to sweeten this lassi with honey. It has the perfect flavor and helps to make a creamy smoothie. I have used agave instead as a sweetener and it was really delicious.
  • Ground Cardamom: You might not think of cardamom when you think of a smoothie, but trust me on this one. It’s so delicious! It has a little bit of warmth that feels and tastes amazing.
Process photos showing a blender being filled with the ingredients and then blended together.

How To Make a Traditional Mango Lassi

A mango lassi is just as easy to make as a smoothie or a milkshake! In fact, I’ve even used ice cream instead of yogurt (and left out sweeteners) and made a mango milkshake lassi, and it was incredible. The added spice is really what sets this lassi apart!

  1. Add Ingredients: Add the yogurt, milk, frozen mangoes, honey, and cardamom into a high-powered blender.
  2. Blend: Blend at high speed for about 1 minute until you get a smooth silky texture.
  3. Adjust: If the mango lassi is too thick, add more liquid and blend until you reach the desired thickness. Or if you prefer it thicker, add ice!
  4. Enjoy: Taste and add additional sweetener if it’s too tangy for your liking. Pour into serving glasses and enjoy!

Tips for Making Mango Lassi

A mango lassi is super simple to make and a favorite at my house! It’s so easy to whip up too. You will fall in love with all of the amazing lassi flavors you can create! Here are a few tips to take your mango lassi to the next level.

  • Using Fresh Mangos: If you want to use fresh mangoes, you can absolutely do that! Make sure to buy fresh and sweet mangoes for the best flavor lassi. You will peel the mango skin off and cut the mango flesh off the stone. You will need to add ice in order to get a nice thick consistency, just like a smoothie. Start with 1 C of ice and see how thick it is, and add more ice if it is too runny.
  • Types of Yogurt: I used plain yogurt, but you could use greek yogurt. Greek yogurt is thicker and there is a really great honey greek yogurt that would go perfectly. You could also use sweetened yogurts or vanilla yogurt if you like your lassi on the sweet side. I’ve tried it with coconut yogurt, and it was amazing!
  • Adding Flavors and Garnishes: One of the most common additions to a lassi is saffron (Kesar). It goes perfectly with mango and cardamom, so feel free to add it in! Another common one is almonds, you could add about 1 tsp crushed almonds for garnish. Pistachios are also a great garnish. You could also add any other fruit that you think would be yummy!
  • Making A Vegan Mango Lassi: This recipe is a great vegan recipe if you switch out the milk! You could use a plant-based milk like almond milk or coconut milk.
A spoon taking a scoop out of the smoothie.

Storing Leftovers

Mango lassi is best enjoyed fresh. It tends to melt and taste less fresh the longer it is left in the refrigerator. It won’t go bad right away, but it definitely tastes best right after you make it!

  • In the Refrigerator: You can store your mango lassi for up to two days in the refrigerator. It won’t go bad that quickly, but the fresh fruit will start to turn colors and not taste as good.

  • Strawberries: Cut up your fresh strawberries and you will love the delicious blend that they make with the watermelon!
  • Coconut Milk: You can also use regular milk if you don’t have any coconut milk on hand.
  • Fresh Lime Juice: This adds in the best tangy flavor.
  • Honey: I like using honey as a natural sweetener in this smoothie.
  • Ice: You don’t have to use ice but I like to add it if I need to thicken the smoothie.

How to Make a Watermelon Smoothie

This recipe is so easy! You will be sipping on this in no time after you blend all of these delicious ingredients together!

  • Combine: Add the watermelon, strawberries, coconut milk, lime juice, honey, and ice together in a high-powered blender.

Smoothie Making Tips

If you love making smoothies and are looking for delicious and healthy ones, then this watermelon smoothie is for you! Here are a few tips on how to make it turn out perfectly.

  • Too thin? Try using frozen fruit instead. This helps thicken your smoothie right up! You can also add in some ice if you don’t have any frozen fruit on hand.
  • Too thick? If you can’t even suck it out of your straw then it’s probably too thick! Add in some extra coconut milk to thin it out a bit.
  • Order matters: If you are having a hard time mixing this up in your blender then you’ve probably loaded it up wrong (I know, it’s crazy that there is a right way to put stuff in!). Start with your liquids, then fruits and greens and then any ice should be added on top!

This delicious and perfectly smooth avocolada smoothie combines avocado, pineapple, spinach, kale, coconut, and lime. It’s SOO GOOD that you will want one every day!

Smoothies are a great snack or breakfast option. Try out a few of my other favorites like this mixed berry, delicious peanut butter banana, or this raspberry peach one.

What IS an Avocolada Smoothie?

While in North Carolina, my friend took me to Tropical Smoothie Cafe and told me that I had to try their avocolada smoothie. I mean. I am obsessed with anything avocado. But an avocado in a smoothie? I couldn’t wait to try it! The avocado added such a smooth and creamy texture to this smoothie. I was instantly hooked! Not to mention it has kale hidden inside as well. This smoothie had better-for-you ingredients hidden inside, and it is incredible.

I was so obsessed with this smoothie, I had it three times on vacation, including on the way to the airport. But the problem? No Tropical Smoothie Cafe here in Utah. So, I had to recreate it myself! It’s the creamiest smoothie ever, thanks to avocado, with pineapple, coconut, and lime for that perfect tropical flavor. It’s my go-to all year long, and if you love this one, my peach smoothie is another must-try!

Ingredients in an Avocolada Smoothie

Like when you make any smoothie, it’s always best to use chilled ingredients. Doing this makes your smoothie turn out thick and not runny. See the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact measurements.

  • Avocado: Make sure that it’s ripe! If you can slightly indent the sides then it’s ready to use.
  • Pineapple: You can use fresh pineapple that has been chilled in the fridge or frozen works just as great.
  • Spinach and kale: These two power foods bring in such a healthy side to this smoothie.
  • Coconut water: A smoothie always needs some liquid as a base so that the ingredients mix up. The coconut water does this and adds just the right amount of flavor too.
  • Agave nectar: You can find this by the sugars and sweeteners in your local grocery store.
  • Lime juice: Fresh lime juice or from a bottle work fine!
  • Coconut butter: You can use coconut oil too if that’s all that you have on hand.
  • Vanilla extract: This really enhances all of the sweet flavors in this smoothie.

Let’s Make a Smoothie!

This avocolada smoothie only takes 5 minutes to put together. And once you try avocado in a smoothie, you won’t go back! You will be enjoying this healthy and delicious smoothie in no time at all!

  1. Add ingredients to blender: Put avocado, diced pineapple, spinach, kale, coconut water, agave nectar, lime juice, coconut butter, and vanilla into the blender.
  2. Mix: Blend until smooth. Enjoy!

What is a Detox Smoothie?

For those of you that aren’t familiar, a detox smoothie is a smoothie that is filled to the brim with healthy ingredients. It has to have fruit and veggies and healthy proteins and fats. The point of a detox smoothie is to basically fill your body with good nutrients to create more balance. You would think that mixing fruits and vegetables and all things healthy that you would sacrifice on taste. But this smoothie is SOO GOOD.

This detox smoothie brings in a delightful array of different fruits and veggies that complement each other. Then, you add in some sweet honey, almond milk and greek yogurt and it smooths it all out. Once you drink this smoothie, you will be hooked! Pack in even more delicious and healthy options like these protein bars or these waffles!

Ingredients You Need to Make a Detox Smoothie

Check out the produce section of your grocery store and pick all of these ingredients up. Slice them up and put some in your freezer (or buy them already frozen!) and you will soon be ready to whip this up! See the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact measurements.

  • Almond milk: This not only brings in a great taste but it’s healthy as well.
  • Greek yogurt: Plain or vanilla Greek yogurt is what I would use in this smoothie to make it nice and creamy.
  • Spinach: You can use frozen of fresh!
  • Celery: Chop this up into small pieces so that it blends up quickly.
  • Pineapple: I like to use frozen chunks because it makes the smoothie thicker.
  • Banana: A frozen banana will help with the texture of this smoothie.
  • Honey: This is what sweetens this up without using sugar!
  • Chia seeds: These are optional. You can add them into the smoothie or just sprinkle some on top!

Let’s Blend Up a Smoothie!

This detox smoothie is so good that you may want to make sure that you have extra ingredients on hand to make another. You are going to love how it tastes!

  1. Blend: Add almond milk, greek yogurt, spinach, celery, pineapple, banana, and honey into a blender. Blend until smooth.
2 pictures showing ingredients added to a blender and then the ingredients all blended up.

Should I Use Frozen or Fresh Ingredients?

I like to use frozen ingredients in smoothies. This detox smoothie is no exception! The reason for this (other than it’s easy!) is because it makes the texture thicker and more smoothie-like. Using fresh ingredients that are filled with fresh juice will make it runnier. The taste will be the same either way!

To make it easy, I like to chop up my ingredients and measure them all out into individual servings. Then, in each bag, I place all of the ingredients to make 1 smoothie. That way when I am ready to make this then I just have to dump them in the blender. You can make a few bags at once so they are ready to go whenever!
