Chick-fil-A peppermint milkshakes are one of the best things about the holiday season, but they’re always gone too soon! Here’s how you can make this delicious peppermint shake at home with just a few simple ingredients.

Chick-fil-A is one of my favorite fast food restaurants. Can you blame me? From their mouthwatering waffle fries to frosted lemonade, everything on the menu is so delicious! Trying to recreate some of these classic menu items at home is so fun. You’ll have to try my copycat recipes for Chick-fil-A sauce, nuggets, lemonade, and their amazing peach shakes!

Chick-fil-A Peppermint Milkshake Recipe

Oh Chick-fil-A milkshakes, how I love you. There really isn’t anything better. They’re definitely my go-to when I’m craving something creamy and sweet! From November to January, their peppermint shake makes an appearance. Let me tell you, if you haven’t tried one of these bad boys yet, you need to. STAT.

Good news is, if your local Chick-fil-A has stopped selling their peppermint shakes, you can still easily make them at home! As much as I love Chick-fil-A’s shakes, I personally think they’re better made from scratch. This way, you can adjust the consistency and all the flavors to your liking! One sip of this creamy peppermint shake and you’ll be as obsessed as I am. By the way- if you love copycat recipes, you can find my full list of them here!

What Makes Chick-fil-A Milkshakes So Good?

Chick-fil-A uses a blend of soft serve ice cream and whole milk to make their milkshakes. Unless you happen to have a soft serve machine, using a high-fat, creamy vanilla ice cream for your shake is the perfect alternative. Their milkshakes are also handspun so they have the perfect thickness and density!

Milkshake Ingredients

I’m going to go ahead and say sorry to my diet in advance. If you want the creamiest peppermint milkshake possible, you’ll want to use high-fat ingredients here. See the recipe card below for exact measurements!

  • Vanilla Ice Cream: Look for vanilla ice cream made with whole milk and that has a high fat percentage. This will give your milkshake that classic Chick-fil-A goodness.
  • Whole Milk: Again, I recommend using whole milk so that your shake turns out rich and creamy.
  • Peppermint Extract: Peppermint extract can become overpowering pretty easily, so I recommend adding less at first and then adjusting to taste from there.
  • Vanilla: I recommend using pure vanilla extract for the best flavor!
  • Peppermint Candy: You can use crushed candy canes, peppermint bark, or peppermint candies for your shake.
  • Grated Dark Chocolate: For some tasty mint chip flavor! Dark chocolate chips also work.
  • Red Food Coloring: (Optional) Just a couple drops will give your shake the perfect pink color.
  • Whipped Cream: You’ve got to have some whipped cream on top! You can also add a maraschino cherry for that classic Chick-fil-A finishing touch.

How to Make a Copycat Chick-fil-A Peppermint Milkshake

It only takes a few minutes to make this delicious holiday beverage. I love surprising my family with it! It’s quickly becoming a new tradition for Christmas time. They can never get enough! It’s no surprise with how sweet, creamy, and delightfully minty it is. One sip and you’ll be hooked.

  1. Chop Peppermint Candies and Chocolate: In a blender or food processor, finely crush your peppermint candy or candy canes. In a small bowl grate your dark chocolate. Set aside.
  2. Blend Ice Cream, Milk, and Peppermint Extract: In your blender add ice cream, milk, and peppermint and vanilla extract, blend until well combined. If you are adding the food coloring, then you can add it at this point.
  3. Add Peppermint Candy and Chocolate: Add in your crushed peppermints and dark chocolate, continue to blend until everything comes together.
  4. Enjoy: Pour into your favorite glass. Then garnish with some whipped cream and enjoy!

Why Did My Milkshake Turn Out Lumpy?

This usually happens because the ice cream you used was too hard/icy. I like to let my ice cream soften a little before I use it so everything mixes together smoothly!

Tips and Serving Ideas

Making this peppermint milkshake is really as easy as it gets, but here are a couple of extra ways to customize yours! Honestly, it’s one of the best treats for the holiday season. Baked goods get a lot of love this time of year, but beverages need their time to shine!

  • Adjust Peppermint Flavor: You can add more or less peppermint extract depending on your taste. I love peppermint so I tend to add extra when making this for myself!
  • Adjust Consistency: If you want your milkshake to be thicker, don’t add ice! This can actually water it down. Instead, add a small scoop of ice cream at a time until you reach your desired thickness. To make it thinner, add a splash of milk!
  • Freeze Your Glasses: I like to put the glasses I will use for serving into the freezer about 30 minutes before making this recipe. This way, they are nice and frosty, ready to serve this delicious shake.

How Long Will My Milkshake Last?

This peppermint milkshake recipe is best made and enjoyed fresh, although you can keep it frozen in an airtight container. Thaw it out a little and give it a quick mix before serving.

Chick-fil-A’s peach shakes are the best summer treat! Now you can enjoy this delicious seasonal drink all year long with this quick and easy copycat recipe. It’s too creamy and indulgent to pass up!

Milkshakes are one of my family’s favorite desserts. They’re so rich and creamy! The other great thing about milkshakes is that they’re super easy to make at home. Next time you break out the blender for milkshake night, try this thin mint shake, shamrock shake, or classic strawberry shake!

Chick-fil-A Peach Milkshake Copycat Recipe

Chick-fil-A hands-down has some of the best milkshakes ever. They’re so creamy and flavorful with the perfect consistency! In the summer, they roll out their peach milkshake which in my opinion is one of the best. Nothing screams summer quite like the juicy flavor of peach! If you don’t happen to get it while it’s available in-store, you can make this delicious copycat recipe from the comfort of your kitchen!

This copycat Chick-fil-A peach shake uses super simple ingredients and is so easy to make! My kids always make some for themselves which is a win in my book! Once you get a sip of this sweet, creamy drink you’ll want to make them all the time, too. So rich, so creamy, and perfect for summer evenings with the kids! And if you’re looking for more amazing drinks to make this summer, you can find my full list here!

Ingredients You’ll Need

I love making milkshakes and smoothies at home because they’re free of artificial flavorings! This copycat Chick-fil-A peach shake only needs a few simple ingredients and fresh peaches to make. The flavor is so incredibly delicious! Measurements for each ingredient can be found in the recipe card below.

  • Vanilla Ice Cream: Adds creaminess and flavor!
  • Peaches You’ll need both frozen and fresh peaches for the perfect flavor and consistency.
  • Milk: The key to recreating Chick-fil-A’s milkshake is using full-fat dairy. It may not be the healthiest, but whole milk is what’s going to make your drink so creamy and indulgent! (Trust me, this shake is definitely worth the calories.)
  • Vanilla Extract: Adds an extra pop of flavor to the milkshake. Use pure vanilla extract if possible!
  • Whipped Topping: No milkshake is complete without a dollop of whipped cream on top!
  • Maraschino Cherries: A cherry on top is the classic finishing touch.

How to Make Your Peach Milkshake

This peach milkshake is beyond easy to make and comes together in less than 5 minutes! It’s the perfect foolproof recipe to keep on repeat all summer.

  1. Add Ingredients to Blender: Place the ice cream in a blender. Add the frozen peaches, milk, and vanilla extract.
  2. Blend: Blend on high until the ingredients are smooth and incorporated.
  3. Add Fresh Peaches: Add the fresh peaches last and lightly pulse so the chunks don’t fully blend. You can also just stir in the chunks if you like the pieces thicker.
  4. Add Toppings and Serve: Top with whipped topping and cherry on top!

Tips for Making the Best Peach Milkshakes

Here are a few extra tips and tricks to help you craft the perfect milkshake! Keep them in mind and your shake will end up creamy, smooth, and delicious, just like the ones from Chick-fil-A!

  • Why Did My Milkshake Turn Out Lumpy? The biggest culprit for lumpy milkshakes is using ice cream or other frozen ingredients that are too hard. I always let my ice cream soften a little before I add it to my blender. This way, it incorporates smoothly with the other ingredients.
  • How Do I Make My Milkshake Thicker? The best way to avoid a milkshake that is too thin is by adding milk a little bit at a time until you reach your desired consistency. If you’ve ended up with a shake that’s too runny, though, don’t worry! Mixing in a high-fat dairy product like ice cream or whipping cream can help adjust it. As tempting as it might be to add in ice, don’t do this! The ice will melt quickly and your shake will be watery and gritty.
  • How Do I Make My Milkshake Thinner? For a thinner milkshake, mix or blend a tablespoon of milk in at a time until you reach your desired consistency!
  • How Long Can I Store a Milkshake? Milkshakes are one of those things that are best served straight out of the blender. You can keep them in the fridge for an hour or two at most before they become runny and melted.

Homemade Strawberry Milkshake Recipe

Strawberry milkshakes are a hit at our house! This classic dessert reminds me of summer nights, and we whip these up as often as possible to eat outside while enjoying amazing summer nights. Plus, not only is this strawberry milkshake recipe so delicious, but it’s easy! And who doesn’t like a recipe that their kids can whip up themselves (and make an extra one for you!)

All you need is four ingredients to make this strawberry milkshake the very best. Now, in no way is this a healthy milkshake (is there such a thing?), but sometimes, you just need to indulge in something just because it’s so delicious. And at least it has some fruit in it! This shake is the perfect drink for any occasion, and your family will go crazy over it. If you want something healthy, make my 3-ingredient, oven-baked strawberry fruit leather!

Ingredients in a Strawberry Milkshake

The best part about making this thick milkshake at home is knowing exactly what ingredients are in it and how much. It’s all fresh from your kitchen! No more guessing what all the additives or flavorings are. Check out the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact measurements.

  • Vanilla Ice Cream: I like to let this soften up for a few minutes before blending it. It’s easier to scoop out! If you want more strawberry flavoring then you can use strawberry ice cream but I prefer vanilla.
  • Frozen Sliced Strawberries: I like to get sweetened strawberries. Make sure that they are mostly thawed before you begin making your shake. You can also use fresh strawberries if that’s what you have on hand.
  • Milk: The milk acts as a base for the milkshake. I used regular 1 percent milk but you could use something like coconut milk if you wanted to instead.
  • Whipped Topping: The whipped cream topping is is perfect addition on top!

How to Make a Strawberry Milkshake

This is easy as 1, 2, 3! You are only a few steps away from creating what will soon be your favorite dessert! It’s definitely a go-to recipe, especially during the summer months.

  1. Add Ice Cream: Place the scoops of vanilla ice cream in a blender.
  2. Pour: Pour in the milk
  3. Combine: Add the sweetened strawberries.
  4. Blend: Blend on high until the ingredients are smooth and incorporated. Top with whipped topping, and enjoy!

Helpful Tips

Once you learn how to make the perfect strawberry milkshake at home, you’ll always want to have the ingredients on hand to make them! Follow my tips for making this delicious strawberry shake.

  • Thick or Thin: Always start with less milk than you think. This way you can control the thickness of your shake. You can always add more liquid if you like a thinner milkshake. If you add too much liquid, just add more ice cream or ice to help thicken it to get that creamy texture.
  • Sweetened Frozen Strawberries: Find these in the freezer section in a small plastic tub. The sweetness in these strawberries are the secret weapon to this shake and help make it extra sweet. The added sugar to sweeten the strawberries really add to the flavor. Avoid unsweeteend frozen strawberries because they can sometimes taste tart.
  • Good Quality Ice Cream: Good quality ice cream made with quality ingredients ensures a creamy homestyle flavor!
  • Variations: Feel free to experiment with adding other flavors. You can add bananas, fresh berries like raspberries or blueberries, chocolate chips, other cream cheese, peanut butter… the possibilites are endless!

It feels as though summer is nearing an end. Especially as I scroll through my Pinterest feed and I’m already seeing plenty of pumpkin recipes, fall décor, and skinny jeans with boots. As sad as I am to see summer ending, Fall is my favorite season so I’m pretty excited. I love everything about Fall – the changing colors, the crisp weather, the food and flavors, the attire – everything!

But, summer isn’t quite over and to end it with a BANG! I’ve got the best ever milkshake for you to try. Pull out that leftover ice cream from all those BBQ parties you’ve been throwing and you are halfway done. Since there are still a few more hot (or at least warm) days left, this shake is the perfect treat. Plus it’s got salted caramel. Delish.

I hope you all enjoy! The next time I’m back, I’ll have some good comfort food or something stuffed with pumpkin for you all 🙂

Creamy and delicious milkshakes with thin mints inside!

Thin Mint Milkshake in a clear glass.

We just got our girl scout cookies delivered last week. My favorite girl scout cookie is tied between Samoas and Thin Mints. But my hubby’s favorite is a thin mint. He only ordered two boxes and I about saw a grown man cry. And what is with those boxes disappearing in minutes anyway? Well I knew that I would have to keep my eye out at grocery stores to find some more. Low and behold, they were at the store yesterday. And you better believe that I scored 3 boxes. 🙂

I immediately knew that I wanted to make some thin mint milkshakes. Mint flavored shakes are my favorite. But throw some thin mint cookies into it and you have got one amazing milkshake. How can these not be fantastic!? Creamy chocolate milkshakes with the tiny ground up cookies. Top with some whipped cream and you have one delicious milkshake!

Hey everyone! It’s Chelsea over from Chelsea’s Messy Apron to bring you a quick, easy, and delicious recipe. My family moved to Ohio this summer and we have been experiencing quite the winter. People around tell us it’s usually not this bad, and I sure hope they are right come next winter! We’ve had more snow than I’ve ever seen in my life and it seems like the state has been in the negative temps more than the positives. To help deal with these sub-zero temps, I’ve posted warm comfort meals and plenty of soups, but today I wanted to “defy” these terrible cold temperatures with a tropical breakfast shake!

Tropical Breakfast Shake in a glass cup with a pink straw and coconut shaving on the side.

This shake has all kinds of tropical flavors – fresh pineapple, orange juice, a ripe banana, and some coconut flakes to top it all off. It tastes like summer in a glass!
This tropical breakfast shake also has a base of raspberry yogurt and a little bit of vanilla extract. I used truvia to sweeten this shake, but you could try another sweetener or even a little bit of honey would taste great. And the coconut flakes definitely add some good sweetness to the shake.
It’s called a “breakfast shake” because all of the ingredients are good for you and a great choice for a healthy breakfast.

This shake comes together super quick. Just put all of the ingredients into a blender and pulse until it is all combined (or if you have a Blendtec or Vitamix, press the “smoothie” button). The one catch is to make sure you freeze a banana before making this shake. The night before you want the shake (or at least a couple of hours before) peel a very ripe banana, cut it into coins, and place the banana coins onto a tray. Freeze the bananas for about an hour and then transfer into a resealable bag.

The riper the banana is, the better the shake will taste. I’m not a huge fan of eating overripe bananas, but they will give the best flavor to your shake. I also froze the pineapple chunks that go into this shake, but you don’t have to do that. If you want a colder shake without frozen pineapple chunks, you can always add 1/2 to 1 full cup of ice. The more ice you have the thicker the consistency of your shake will be.
Speaking about pineapple, I used fresh pineapple – just cup. However, you can also buy frozen pineapple chunks OR buy a can of pineapple chunks and use that.

Here’s to hoping it warms up quick!!

  • Optional: unsweetened coconut flakes

  • In a blender or large food processor, combine the banana, orange juice, yogurt, truvia, and vanilla extract.
  • Pulse for about 10-15 seconds.
  • Add in the frozen pineapple. Blend until completely smooth and no chunks remain.
  • If desired garnish with unsweetened coconut flakes

Skinny Cookies and Cream Milkshakes in clear glasses with blue striped straws.

You guys. I am sick again. What the heck? I just got over a sinus cold and now I have another one. Curses. It is definitely not fun being pregnant and sick. And you definitely can’t load up on the Nyquil!

I haven’t had much of an appetite at all the past couple of days and all that sounded good to me was a shake for my sore throat. I loved this recipe for this skinny cookies and cream shake. Let me tell you why. The secret ingredient is a frozen banana. It gave it such creamy texture and a sweet flavor. The banana flavor wasn’t over powering at all.

Cookies and Cream shakes are hands down my favorite of all time. This shake is only 4 simple ingredients and can be whipped up in a jiffy! My kids couldn’t even tell that there was a banana inside and loved it just as much as I did! And you can’t go wrong with a delicious cookies and cream shake with lower calories! Win!

*Do not freeze the banana in the peel. Cut into chunks and freeze in a ziplock baggie.
