If you love iced tea, you’re going to be obsessed with this Arnold Palmer. The combo of crisp black tea and tangy lemonade is pure summer magic. It’s simple, refreshing, and always just what you need.

A couple glasses full of cool, crisp refreshing Arnold Palmers.

Why You’ll Be Sipping This All Summer

  • Fresh Lemons = Big Flavor: I use fresh-squeezed lemons instead of store-bought lemonade, which gives a brighter, fresher flavor and tang!
  • So Simple: Just 3 basic ingredients (iced tea, sugar, and lemons) and no fancy equipment. It’s easy enough to make anytime, anywhere.
  • Refreshing: It’s light, snappy, and the kind of drink you’ll want to keep in the fridge all summer long, and sip alongside a meal like fish and chips!

Arnold Palmer Ingredients

Overhead shot of labeled ingredients.
  • Sweeteners: You can use honey, agave, simple syrup, or monk fruit sweetener as a replacement for the sugar if you prefer. If you are using Splenda, use 3/4 cup to replace the 1 1⁄2 cups of sugar.
  • Use Fresh Lemon Juice: Don’t use bottled lemon juice for this Arnold Palmer Drink! It tastes much better with freshly squeezed lemons.
  • Pre-Made Lemonade: You can use store-bought or homemade lemonade. If you do, just mix the tea and lemonade in a 1:1 ratio since premade lemonade has sugar in it already.
  • Tea: I like Pure Leaf unsweetened black tea, but you can cold brew your own by steeping 2–3 tea bags in 3 cups of water overnight. Use more for stronger tea. Caffeinated or decaf both work, and unsweetened lets you control the sweetness.

How to Make an Arnold Palmer

Named after golfer Arnold Palmer, this drink got its name because he ordered the iced tea and lemonade combo so often that fans started asking for “an Arnold Palmer” too. It’s easy to make and only requires 3 ingredients!

  1. Combine: Mix the lemon juice and sugar in a large pitcher, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Enjoy: Pour the unsweetened iced tea into the pitcher, stir well, then pour into a tall glass over ice cubes and serve. Optional garnish with fresh mint leaves and a lemon slice on the rim!

How to Make a Spiked Arnold Palmer

Add 1.5 oz of vodka, bourbon, or sweet tea vodka to your glass before pouring in the tea and lemonade. For a lighter twist, try swapping the black tea with hard iced tea or the lemonade with hard lemonade instead of adding liquor.

How to Store Leftovers

Store the classic Arnold Palmer drink in a pitcher in the fridge for up to 5 days.

  • Simple: This recipe is easy to make and takes less than 20 minutes.
  • Versatile: This lemonade isn’t just for drinking! You could add it to cocktails, use it as a smoothie base, or freeze it into popsicles for a fun twist.

How to Make Peach Lemonade

Making fresh, homemade peach lemonade takes less than 20 minutes and is 100% worth it! The fresh peaches and tart lemons combine for a perfect marriage of summer sweetness.

  1. Prep: Wash the peaches and remove the pits. You can peel the skin, but I like leaving it on for this syrup. Then dice the peaches.
  2. Simmer: Add the peaches, sugar, and ½ cup of water to a saucepan and cook over medium. Cook the peaches for about 7-8 minutes, or until they are soft and syrupy and the sugar has dissolved and is bubbling.
  3. Puree: Remove the pan from the heat and very carefully pour the peach mixture into a blender or a food processor. Place the lid on and cover it with a clean kitchen towel before blending until it is smooth. You can strain out the solids if you would like by using a spoon or spatula to press the syrup through a fine mesh strainer. Cover the syrup and let it cool to room temperature, or chill it in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it.
  4. Serve: When you are ready to serve the lemonade, combine the peach syrup, lemon juice, 4 cups of cold water, and ice in a pitcher. Stir to combine. If desired, add slices of lemons and peaches for garnish.

Perfect Peach Lemonade Tips

I want this to be the best peach lemonade you’ve ever had! To do that please follow these tips and variations to have it turn out just the way you like it!

  • Quick Ripenning Hack: Ripen your peaches quicker by placing them stem-side down inside a paper bag and closing it. Check them in a day or two. The trapped ethylene gas will speed up the ripening!
  • Substitutions: You may substitute half the diced peaches for strawberries or raspberries to make peach-strawberry or raspberry syrup.
  • Sweetness Scale: If you find your lemonade a bit too sweet or your peaches are especially ripe, you might want to cut back on the sugar to just ½–¾ cup instead of the full cup. This adjustment allows you to customize the sweetness to your preference.
  • Frozen or Canned Substitutes: You may replace the fresh peaches with 10-ounces of canned or frozen peaches if you want to make this and fresh peaches are unavailable.
  • Under-Ripe Peaches: You can still use under-ripe peaches for this recipe. Cooking the peaches for the syrup will help bring out the sweetness. If the flesh won’t release from the pit, cut around the pit as well as you can before dicing it up and adding it to the saucepan.
  • Fresh Lemons: Use fresh lemons! Fresh lemons will make a world of difference in flavor for lemonade.
  • Adult Drink: Add a little rum, vodka or bourbon to make this a refreshing adult drink!
  • Flavor Variations: To give it a different flavor, you can add fresh mint, rosemary, berries, ginger, basil or vanilla.
Side shot of pitcher of lemonade with someone stirring with a wooden spoon.

Leftover Lemonade Instructions

You will love having this peach lemonade in your fridge to pull out when you are in the mood for something sweet and refreshing.

  • Make in Advance: The peach syrup can be made up to a week in advance. Keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freeze in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
  • Fridge: Once the lemonade has been mixed, it can be kept for 5 to 7 days in the refrigerator.

Chick Fil A Frosted Lemonade

I have an obsession. Chick Fil A’s Frosted Lemonade! Have you had it?! It is the most amazing and creamy delicious frozen drink that I have ever had. I crave Chick Fil A frosted lemonade all of the time, especially on hot summer days. So the last time that I ordered this frosted lemonade, I noticed that they just add vanilla ice cream to their delicious hand-squeezed lemonade. And since I have the recipe for their lemonade already, I wanted to make some at home for myself!

It was pretty simple to squeeze some fresh lemons and combine them all into the blender. This Chick Fil A frosted lemonade blended so smooth and creamy, and the hint of lemon is absolutely fantastic! You will love everything about it, and it will be the best refreshing lemonade drink that you make this summer. It tastes identical to the frosted lemonade at Chick Fil A. And the best part is that you can make a big batch at home!

What You Need To Make Copycat Frosted Lemonade

This ingredient list is short and sweet! It is perfect for making this frosted lemonade this summer as many times as you want! It is the perfect blend of sweet and savory and is so easy to make! You will find the full measurements located in the recipe card below.

  • Lemon Juice: Fresh squeezed is best.
  • Sugar: Balances the tartness in the frosted lemonade.
  • Water: Is the base of the lemonade.
  • Vanilla Ice Cream: This is what gives it that frosted taste and chill you are going to love.

How to Copy Chick Fil A Frosted Lemonade

To make this quick and easy Chick Fil A frosted lemonade, you just need a few ingredients and a blender! You will never have to go out to get this delicious drink again!

  • Combine: Add lemon juice, sugar, and water to a blender. Add the vanilla ice cream. I used about the equivalent to 4 cups.
  • Blend: Blend until smooth. Pour into four cups and enjoy!

All You Need To Know About Fresh Lemons

Incredible Chick Fil A Frozen Lemonade starts with fresh squeezed Lemons. Yes, fresh. Not the bottled stuff, so here is all you need to know.

  • How to Pick Lemons: It can seem complicated, but you’ll be an expert when you know what to look for. Look for lemons that seem heavy when you hold it in your hands. Also, look for thin skin that is firm and has a fine texture to the peel. It should be a deep yellow color. The heavier the fruit and thinner the skin, the more juice it will have.
  • Where should I store Lemons? Decorating your counter with fresh fruit in a pretty bowl is so tempting. Just leave the lemons out. If left at room temperature, the skins can become tough, and the lemons can actually dry out. Keep your lemons in the fridge.
  • Juicing Tip: Cut and quarter your lemons and then microwave them for 30 seconds. This helps the lemons release more of their juice.
  • Can I use bottled lemon juice instead of lemons? I would say if you weren’t making lemonade, yes, you could. But for the best-tasting and refreshing lemonade, use fresh lemons. It just won’t be the same otherwise.
  • Intensify the Flavor: Add the zest of one lemon to the mixture before adding the ice cream for even more of that citrus flavor without adding too much more zing.
Adding water and ice cream to the lemonade mix.

Tips and Variations

This Chick Fil A Frosted Lemonade is one of the simplest recipes you can make. That being said, here are some ways to make it perfect!

  • Blender: Because everything is essentially a liquid for this refreshing drink, you do not have to have a fancy blender. Even an immersion blender will work. Just blend till desired consistency.
  • Sugar: Make sure the sugar is dissolved as much as possible before adding the ice cream for a creamy texture.
  • Lemonade: Out of lemons, you can use already-made lemonade. You will need 2 cups of lemonade for this recipe instead of the freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar, and water. I highly recommend using a good-quality, all-natural lemonade.
  • Ice Cream: I love using ice cream full of ingredients I can pronounce and nothing artificial if I can help it. If you need a dairy alternative or something different, go for it! The taste and texture might be a bit different, but it should still be amazing.
  • Add-ins: Vary this refreshing lemonade by adding in frozen berries, peaches, or other fruit of choice.
  • Mix it Up: Use Chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla, or use orange juice and reduce or omit the sugar. For extra zip use lime juice instead of lemons for a frozen limeade.

How to Store Frozen Lemonade

This Chick Fil A Copycat Frozen Lemonade is best served immediately, but you can make it a few hours beforehand. Blend the ingredients together and place them in the freezer. When ready to use, let it thaw a bit or blend it again by adding extra ice cream or water as needed for desired consistency.

Frozen Lemonade Pie Recipe

There’s nothing quite like a homemade lemonade pie to beat the summer heat and satisfy your sweet tooth. With its tangy and refreshing flavors, this pie is the ultimate dessert for those hot summer days. The best part? It’s incredibly easy to make! All you need are a few simple ingredients, like graham cracker crumbs, sugar, butter, sweetened condensed milk, cream cheese, frozen lemonade concentrate, and whipped topping.

With just a little bit of prep and a few hours in the freezer, you’ll have a delicious lemony pie that will impress your friends and family at your next backyard barbecue or picnic. It’s also great as a treat for hot afternoons since it’s chilled! After a day in the sun, my kids can never get enough. So, I always have to make sure I snag a piece (or two) for myself.

Ingredients You’ll Need

I love lemonade pie because not only is it refreshing and delicious, but it uses super simple ingredients. You can find measurements for each of them in the recipe card below!

Crust

  • Graham Cracker Crumbs: Give the crust structure and a delicious nutty flavor.
  • Granulated Sugar: For sweetness!
  • Melted Butter: Butter adds a rich flavor to the crust and also helps it take shape.

Filling

  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: If a dessert has condensed milk in it, you know it has to be good.
  • Cream Cheese: Acts as a creamy, tangy base for the filling.
  • Frozen Lemonade Concentrate: Using frozen concentrate is an easy way to add the perfect lemony flavor to the pie.
  • Whipped Topping: This is mixed into the filling for some extra creamy goodness! You can also use some homemade whipped cream instead.

Let’s Make Lemonade Pie!

Both the crust and the filling for this lemonade pie are so easy to make. If you’re making this pie for an event, be sure to allow yourself enough time for it to chill and set completely before serving.

To Make the Crust:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Combine: Combine the graham cracker crumbs and sugar in a medium bowl.
  3. Mix In Butter: Add the butter and mix until it resembles wet sand.
  4. Press Into Pie Dish: Add the mixture to a 9-inch pie dish and press into place with your fingers or a flat-bottomed measuring cup.
  5. Bake: Bake for 10 minutes and let cool completely.

Filling

  1. Cream Cheese Mixture: Add the softened cream cheese and the sweetened condensed milk to a large bowl and beat with a hand mixer until smooth.
  2. Add Lemonade: Add the lemonade concentrate and mix until smooth.
  3. Add Whipped Topping: Stir in half the container of whipped topping until smooth and pour into the cooled crust. You may have a little bit extra filling, which I like to pour into a few ramekins and freeze for an extra treat.
  4. Chill: Place in the freezer for at least 6 hours, or overnight.
  5. Serve: When ready to serve, remove from the freezer and top with the remaining half container of whipped topping. Serve immediately.
4-photo collage of crust and filling being prepared.

Tips and Variations

Lemonade pie is straightforward to make, but here are a few simple ways to make it taste even better!

  • Ensure a Sturdy Crust: To achieve the perfect graham cracker crust, make sure to press the crumb mixture firmly into the pie dish. This will help the crust hold its shape when you cut and serve the pie. You can use the back of a spoon or a flat-bottomed glass to evenly press the crumbs into the dish.
  • Soften Your Cream Cheese: Softening the cream cheese is crucial for achieving a smooth and creamy filling. Take the cream cheese out of the refrigerator in advance and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to an hour. This will make it easier to blend with the other ingredients and prevent any lumps in the filling.
  • Swap Out the Crust: Instead of graham cracker crumbs, try using crushed Nilla Wafers!
  • Make it Lime: Use frozen limeade concentrate for a lime version of this tasty pie!

How Long Does Lemonade Pie Last?

Never very long at my house! But if you’re lucky enough to have leftovers, you can keep them in the fridge for later when you’re craving something cold and sweet.

In the Refrigerator: Store covered with plastic wrap for up to 4 days.

2 glasses of limeade topped with lime slices.

Homemade Brazilian Lemonade Recipe

Here is something that I don’t understand about this recipe. Although it’s called Brazilian lemonade, it’s made with limes. That makes no sense to me! What I do know is – this drink is one of the most refreshing, delicious things I have ever tried. When I first found this recipe, I loved how it had such simple ingredients. But my favorite ingredient by far is the sweetened condensed milk. It adds the best creaminess to the drink! Remember how I said I could totally drink that stuff? Well I was partially joking, partially not. It is just so good!

Not only are the ingredients simple, but Brazilian lemonade is super easy to make as well! It’s also great for making big batches of. It’s a potluck favorite! Just a few minutes is all it takes to blend the ingredients together and you have a perfect, refreshing, summer lemonade…. or limeade. I hope someday I will find the answer to this!

Ingredients for Brazilian Lemonade

It really doesn’t get any easier than this. These 4 ingredients combine for the most incredible tropical flavor! You’ll love it! Exact measurements can be found in the recipe card below.

  • Fresh Limes: Despite the name, Brazilian lemonade is made with limes instead of lemons. Unlike traditional limeade recipes, however, the whole lime gets blended instead of juiced! Since this is the main flavor of the drink, you’ll want your limes to be as fresh as possible.
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: This is what makes Brazilian lemonade stand out from the crowd! It adds the most amazing creaminess to the drink.
  • Sugar: Sweetens the drink.
  • Cold Water and Ice: Helps adjust the consistency of the drink and keep it cool!

How to Make Brazilian Lemonade at Home

This recipe is so simple because you use a blender to do all of the mixing! From there, just strain and serve!

  1. Add Ingredients to Blender: In a blender add the limes, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, and water.
  2. Blend: Blend until smooth.
  3. Strain: Pour it into a vase using a strainer to remove the chunks of lime.
  4. Add Ice: Add in ice, and serve immediately.
4-photo collage of Brazilian lemonade ingredients being blended and strained.

Substitutes and Variations

The best part about making homemade drinks is you can customize them to your liking! Here are a few easy ways to switch yours up!

  • Other Sweeteners: If you’re wanting to avoid refined sugars, try sweetening your Brazilian lemonade with honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar!
  • Add Herbs: Adding fresh herbs not only makes your drink look picture-perfect, but it infuses extra flavor! Basil and mint are some of my favorites to add in!
  • Make it Dairy-Free: Full-fat coconut milk is a great alternative to condensed milk! It has great flavor, too!
  • Make it Boozy: For an adults-only version of this drink, try adding a splash of vodka or coconut rum.

Storing Leftovers

If you have leftovers of your Brazilian lemonade, transfer it to an airtight pitcher and store in the fridge for 3-4 days. The ingredients may separate as your drink sits, so give it a quick stir before you serve it.

Juicy, sweet, and just a little bit sour, this sparkling watermelon lemonade is the most refreshing summer drink. Serve it at your next get-together and I promise it will be a huge hit!

Nothing complements a summer barbecue like a refreshing homemade beverage! This copycat Starbucks pink drink, mint julep, and pineapple lemonade are a few of my favorites!

Top-down view of 2 cups of watermelon lemonade, garnished with lemon and watermelon slices.

Sparkling Watermelon Lemonade Recipe

We’ve been going through a heat wave here in Utah and it’s been rough! The only thing keeping me going has been cold, refreshing drinks like this sparkling watermelon lemonade. It’s smooth, sweet, and just a little bit bubbly! It has been a hit at our summer barbecues and I’m sure you and yours will love it just as much!

It only takes a few simple ingredients to whip this up. Plus, you can use leftover watermelon! We always have quite a bit of it after a barbecue. This lemonade is great for customizing, too! Whether you want to add a splash of alcohol, fruit purées, or flavored syrups, it’s a great foundation to work with. You’ll want to have it around all summer long!

What You’ll Need to Make It

Just a handful of simple ingredients are needed here! All measurements can be found in the recipe card at the end of the post.

  • Seedless Watermelon: I cut mine into small cubes so it blends more easily.
  • Fresh Lemon Juice: I’ve found that fresh lemon juice gives lemonade the best flavor, but you can use bottled lemon juice if it’s easier for you!
  • Granulated Sugar: This is the main sweetener of the drink. You can swap this out for things like honey, agave, or Stevia.
  • Sparkling Water: I used a mix of lemon and watermelon sparkling water.
  • Ice Cubes: You’ve got to have your drink served over ice on these hot summer days!
  • Lemon and Watermelon Slices: For that picture-perfect garnish.

How to Make Sparkling Watermelon Lemonade

Only 3 easy steps here! This sparkling watermelon lemonade is the perfect thing to whip up before a get-together with friends or family.

  1. Blend: Place watermelon cubes into blender and blend until the watermelon is completely pureed. Pour over a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl.
  2. Mix: Pour strained watermelon into a large pitcher. Add fresh squeezed lemon juice and sugar. Add lemon and watermelon flavored sparkling water. Stir well.
  3. Serve: Serve over ice and garnish with a lemon and/or watermelon slice.
4-photo collage of drink ingredients being added to a blender.

Tasty Variations

Lemonades are great for customizing! Here are a few extra ways to jazz up your drink.

  • Make it Boozy: For an adult version of this drink, try adding a splash of your favorite vodka!
  • Add Other Fruits: Create a tasty flavor combination by adding in fruit purée or syrup to your drink! Give your watermelon lemonade a pop of rich berry flavor by adding in some blueberry syrup!
  • No Bubbles: If you don’t want your lemonade to be carbonated, you can swap out the sparkling water for regular!

Storing Leftover Watermelon Lemonade

If you have leftover sparkling watermelon lemonade, you’ll want to keep it in an airtight pitcher so it doesn’t go flat quickly. It will last in the fridge for a day or two.

There isn’t anything quite as refreshing as this Homemade Lemonade recipe, it’s the BEST!  Summer is going to be so cool, with a glass of this by your side.

Anything with lemons in it is just fresh and energizing, it adds so much zing and flavor. Here are more lemon loving favorites, like these Scallops, Chicken Piccata and Brownies.

A pitcher of homemade lemonade with lemons.

Easy Homemade Lemonade

Just thinking about this recipe makes my mouth water. Imagine a hot day and you are parched. Now reach into the fridge and pull out this pitcher of ice cold lemonade. It’s perfectly balanced between the sweet and the tart. You take a gulp and the world is all better. Seriously, it’s that good! And the reason it’s so good is because it’s so easy! You may never buy lemonade from the store again. Make a double batch, I promise it will not go to waste!

Nothing artificial, no preservatives, it is a lemonade you can serve to your friends and family in confidence. And as with all things homemade, you can control the sweet and tangy to your liking. Add more sugar syrup or more lemon juice. It’s up to you! Serve this at your next big BBQ alongside Grilled Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken Skewers, Grilled Mexican Street Corn and Grilled Pineapple for a meal sure to impress.

What You Need To Make Perfect Lemonade

Making Homemade lemonade from scratch is simple, and delicious!

  • Sugar: You will dissolve this in the water to create a simple syrup.
  • Water: This separate from the rest of the water as it will be used to make the sugar syrup.
  • Lemon Juice: Depending on the size of your lemons will depend on how many you will need to get a cup of juice. Anywhere from 6-10 lemons
  • Water: This is to add it to the syrup and lemon juice to mix it all together.
  • Mint and Lemons: Optional for garnish. I’d give it a try if I were you. It’s very yummy.

When Life Give you Lemons, Let’s Make Lemonade!

Getting the best results from your lemonade will be making the sugar syrup. Do not skip this step.

  1. Sugar Syrup: In a medium saucepan over medium high heat add the sugar and water. Let simmer until the sugar has dissolved about 4-5 minutes.
  2. Pour: Add the syrup to the pitcher.
  3. Lemon Juice: Add in the lemon juice.
  4. Water: Add in 6-8 cups of water and stir.
  5. Extra: Garnish with mint and lemon slices if desired.

Pouring in the sugar water and lemon juice in a pitcher.

Getting the Most Juice From Your Lemons

You want to get the most from your lemons when you juice them. You don’t want to leave anything behind but the pulp, especially since you want a whole cup of juice. To get the most juice out of your lemons you will want to warm them. I do this in the microwave.

Cut your lemons in half and make slits along the peel all the way down to the bottom, about four of them. The cuts should go all the way through the peel and just barely into the flesh. Place the lemons on a microwave safe plate. Microwave for 30-45 seconds or till the lemons are good and warm. Then juice your lemons in your preferred method.

Tips For Fresh Homemade Lemonade

So invigorating and exhilarating, fresh homemade lemonade just hits the spot.

  • Picking Lemons: Getting good lemonade, all starts with the lemons. Look for lemons that are firm but yield to gentle pressure. The skin should be free from any green spots and not be overly thick. Avoid hard lemons as well. Also lemons should feel heavy for their size. The heavier the lemon the more juice they will contain. If you can find them Meyer lemons have the best flavor. They are large, so you will need less, and have a naturally sweeter flavor.
  • Avoid The Bottle: The ultimate lemonade is going to come from using fresh lemons. Bottled lemon juice or juice from concentrate just is not the same.
  • Intensify the Flavor: Add the zest of one lemon to the sugar syrup for even more of that citrus flavor without adding too much more zing.
  • Store It:  Since ice cubes will dilute the lemon, keep in the fridge without ice cubes and when ready to serve add the ice cubes to the glass, not the pitcher. It will keep for 4 days.

Adding water and lemons and mint for garnish.

Why Do I Need to Make a Sugar Syrup?

Because it is the one of the best ways to mix sugar and lemons successfully. This way your homemade lemonade will taste amazing and mix up beautifully.

Making the sugar syrup is the key to making your homemade lemonade balanced. When you just throw the water, sugar and lemon juice together the sugar will often sink to the bottom and almost be impossible to dissolve. Most of it will, but some of it won’t. This makes it very difficult to that right balance of sweet and tart. By heating the sugar with water and dissolving it into a syrup allows the sugar and lemon juice to meld together and be perfectly balanced from the first drink to the last.

Variations For Simple Homemade Lemonade

Why stop and just lemonade, when we can add lots of flavors and fun to your summer drink! Homemade lemonade is far from boring, get creative and enjoy!

  • Fruit: Lemons and fruit were made for each other. Try Strawberry Lemonade, Pomegranate, Blueberry, Raspberry and Watermelon Lemonades. Add lime juice for a lemon lime twist.
  • Fizzy:  Instead of plain water add your favorite sparkling water for a bit of bubbly. This makes a great substitute for soda in the summer. You still get that fizzy texture, but it is healthier for you.
  • Freeze it:  Use this to make your own Lemonade pops or a refreshing slushy drink like this Frozen Strawberry Lemonade!

Strawberry lemonade is the perfect summertime drink that is refreshing and delicious! With only a few ingredients, this homemade lemonade will be the hit! Fall in love with this delicious and flavorful drink this summer!

Strawberries are what I love! This frozen strawberry lemonade is just as good and gives another way of cooling down this summer. Fresh ingredients that is kid approved and loved by all!

Strawberry lemonade in a mason jar garnished with more fresh strawberries, a lemon slice and a strawberry cut on the side.

Homemade Strawberry Lemonade

I don’t know what it is about me and strawberries, but I am obsessed! I made a special trip to Costco just to get their amazing strawberries. I love buying strawberries when they are in season and perfectly ripe and juicy. I love using them in recipes, especially homemade jam. That is if they make it to the recipe! I ate one pound all by myself yesterday! They were just so good I kept eating them one by one. Needless to say I had to make another trip to get some more strawberries because we ended up making 3 batches of this amazing strawberry lemonade.

Let me just tell you how amazing this turned out. I had a little helper in the kitchen today. We cut the fresh strawberries and squeezed the lemons by hand into the blender. This recipe is the perfect amount of lemon and the perfect amount of strawberries. I sliced up some fresh strawberries and poured the drink into into a glass with ice on top. And oh yum… the froth on top of this made the drink incredible. We will be making this weekly at our house and it also makes such a fun summer drink!

Ingredients for Strawberry Lemonade:

I have always loved strawberry lemonade and I order it wherever we go. Since I didn’t grow up on soda I have always preferred strawberry lemonade and it quenches your thirst so well especially on a hot summer day!

  • Strawberries: Fresh strawberries are best and taste juicy and delicious.
  • Lemons: Juice of 2 Large lemons
  • Agave Nectar: This gives it a little thickness and some sweet flavoring to go with the tart lemonade.
  • Cold Water: Nice and refreshing on a hot summer day!
  • Extra Strawberries: Garnish with more strawberries to look beautiful in your pitcher and cups.

How do you Make Strawberry Lemonade from Scratch?

This is a simple recipe that comes together quickly. Double or even triple the recipe (depending on your blender size) for a delicious drink throughout each day.

  1. Blend on high: In a blender, combine 1 1/2 cup strawberries, juice of 2 lemons, and agave nectar. Blend on high until smooth about 2 minutes.
  2. Whisk together: Pour into a pitcher and whisk together with the cold water. Refrigerate until chilled about an hour.
  3. Serve and enjoy! Serve with ice and garnish with strawberry.

The Recipe Critic Pro Tip:

Another sweet thing about making a homemade lemonade, is that you can use any kind of fruit to substitute for the strawberry!

Fresh strawberries sliced into a blender adding in lemon juice and another photo next to it with it blended together.

Can You Use Frozen Strawberries for this Lemonade?

Yes! Frozen strawberries will work great and gives it that strawberry flavoring. Just know the texture and consistency may be a little different. Fresh strawberries are best for this recipe if possible to use. When using frozen strawberries be sure to thaw them prior to adding them to the blender. Since frozen strawberries are not as sweet as fresh strawberries, I recommend adding a little bit of sugar into the mix or more agave nectar.

Three photos of pitchers, the first on the left has a pitchers with sliced lemons and strawberries and pouring cold water over them. The second photo in the middle is the pitcher with water having the puree being poured over top and the third photo on the right has a wooden spoon stirring the pitcher mixture together.

Variations When Making Homemade Lemonade:

I am always up for different mixtures of lemonade but strawberry lemonade is my go-to. I can’t get enough of the rich, sweet and a hint of tart flavoring it has to offer. Make different varieties of lemonade or even switching the ingredients around with what is best for you. Enjoy all summertime long with this homemade lemonade made from scratch!

  • Fruit: Mix and match fruit! Add in more fruit or substitute fruit with watermelon, kiwi, more berries or even pineapple!
  • Lemons: If you love more tart squeeze another lemon into the mix. Lemon juice will also work if you don’t have fresh lemons.
  • Syrup: Substitute honey, sugar or a sweet syrup to thicken and add sweetness to the lemonade.
  • Water: Sounds crazy but even switching out the cold water for hot water can give you a different feel for this homemade lemonade. Almost like a warm drink to settle you down at night and warm you up.

Can you Freeze Fresh Lemonade?

Totally! Simply mix together the fresh strawberries, lemon juice and agave nectar together. Leave out the water and extra strawberries until you are ready to thaw. Pour into a ziplock bag and lay flat in a freezer for up to 3 months. When ready to make homemade lemonade, let it thaw over night in the refrigerator and add to a pitcher. Add the water amount and stir together. Enjoy all summer long!

How Long Does Homemade Lemonade Last?

Homemade lemonade will keep in the refrigerator for 5 to 7 days long. Lemonade will not go bad. Store the lemonade in a pitcher with a lid or jars in the refrigerator to keep it from spilling.

Sparkling pomegranate lemonade in a glass.

Hey everyone! Chelsea back from Chelsea’s Messy Apron 🙂 I hope your holidays are going well so far! And today I have something to make them even better: Sparkling Pomegranate Lemonade! It’s sweet, tangy, and totally delicious, not to mention it’s gorgeously festive!Pomegranate in a bowl.

While lemonade may seem like a summery recipe, this pomegranate lemonade truly makes the best holiday drink! We can’t seem to get enough of it. Not only is it delicious, but it’s also so beautiful and festive looking.

The bright red color of the lemonade, the deep red pop of the pomegranate arils, plus a sprig of mint and you’ve got the most festive holiday beverage!

Sparkling pomegranate lemonade in a glass.

This lemonade is super simple to make which is a must have in this busy holiday season! It starts with a simple syrup of water + white sugar. Once the two have been combined on the stove-top and cooled, that mixture is added to the pitcher. Next you’ll add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and then the pomegranate juice. I use a pomegranate-cranberry juice, but any pomegranate flavored juice will work. You’ll want to get an unsweetened/natural juice so this drink isn’t overly sweet!

I like to mix that all together and store this in the fridge until it’s ready to serve. Right before serving you’ll add in the sparkling water (I get lemon flavored for an extra burst of fresh lemon flavor) and top with the pomegranate arils. Garnish with a lemon slice and/or fresh mint and these beverages are ready to be enjoyed!

And my obsession with Chick fil A is not a secret. This is the reason why I have so many delicious copycat recipes on my blog. Tips For The Best Lemonade

Whether you want to make Frozen Strawberry Lemonade, Watermelon Lemonade or Sparkling Pomegranate Lemonade, you want it to turn out perfect! These tips will help.

  • How to Pick Lemons: It can seem complicated, but when you know what to look for, you’ll be an expert. Look for lemons that seem heavy when you hold it in your hands. Also look for thin skin, that is firm and has a fine texture to the peel. It should be a deep yellow color. The heavier the fruit and thinner the skin the more juice it will have.
  • Where should I store Lemons? It is so tempting to decorate your counter with  fresh fruit in a pretty bowl. Just leave the lemons out. If left at room temperature the skins can become tough and the lemons can actually dry out. Keep your lemons in the fridge.
  • Juicing Tip: Cut and quarter your lemons and then microwave them for about 30 seconds. This helps the lemons release more of its juice.
  • Can I use bottled lemon juice instead of lemons? I would say if you weren’t making lemonade, yes you could. But for the best tasting and refreshing lemonade, use fresh lemons. It just won’t be the same otherwise.
  • Intensify the Flavor: Add the zest of one lemon to the sugar syrup for even more of that citrus flavor without adding too much more zing.

Variations For Fresh Lemonade

Lemonade is versatile, you can add, customize and truly make it your own. So go for it! Here are some ideas to get you started.

  • Fruit: Lemons and fruit were made for each other. Try Strawberry Lemonade, Pomegranate, and Watermelon Lemonades.

Storing Copycat Lemonade

  • Refrigerate: Lemonade will keep for up to two weeks in the fridge. You will want to make sure it is good and cold for serving, so do not remove from fridge till ready to serve.
  • Ice or No Ice: Leave the ice cubes out of the pitcher, and only add ice to glasses. This way you won’t water down your lemonade. You want to keep the nice sweet and tart balance.

Stirring to dissolve the sugar and then pouring in ice cold water.
