Barb, I have so many vinaigrette dressings that would be amazing with this salad. You can try my apple cider, balsamic, basil, lemon or champaign vinaigrette.

Hi Patti, thank you for your question. An apple would work great, the green might be very tart, and pears are typically more sweet. The nice thing about this recipe is you can make it how you like it! Let me know how it turns out!

I had a little bit of broccoli and added it why not yummy.I also tossed the apples in dressing first maybe that helped with apples not Browning.its so good we ate it for two days.

I’ve made this salad twice in the last 2 weeks for luncheons. It’s so very good!! I used 50/50 salad mix & romaine and used honey roasted pecans the first time & honey roasted shivered almonds the 2nd time…both were good. I added some honey mustard to store bought Marzetti’s poppyseed dressing for a little more kick. The 2nd time, I served the dressing on the side which worked better. Everyone at both luncheons loved it and went back for seconds. Thanks for this keeper recipe!
