have not tried this recipe yet but it looks good and I love almond cookies so does my grandson going to make these once I get the almond flour. Always make Linzer cookies also.

Great question! Adding an egg can definitely help with binding and moisture, so yes, you could try reducing the butter by half. Just keep in mind that it might slightly change the texture (maybe a little less rich or crumbly), but it should work. Let me know how it turns out if you try it!

Mine did the same but I did use all the stated ingredients :/
And my mixture was chilled over night then sat out for 15 minutes before baking
