We just got an air fryer for Christmas. I want to make these potatoes tonight to pair with a chicken dish. Can I substitute garlic powder for the cloves of garlic. I would probably use 1teaspoon of garlic powder.

Hi Keri, I can see how that might happen. I would suggest leaving the cheese off the potatoes for the first 10 minutes of cooking and then add it in during the midway point when the potatoes are shaken around. This should prevent the cheese from overcooking and becoming rock solid. Good luck!

The flavor was great but what am I doing wrong? The cheese just got hard and stuck to the basket. I sprayed with cooking oil and shool half way through. But by then the cheese was a rock hard mess. I had to dump the taters and chip the cheese off then put them back in to finish cooking. What a mess. But they still tasted great!
